About the Remuneration System

“Latvijas Pasts” sets the remuneration according to the amount of work done by the employee, their qualifications and quality of work.

Salary rates are determined taking into account the overall national economic trends, the company's financial capacity and the remuneration system of position levels.

A salary not less than the national minimum salary is guaranteed for a full position unit (workload). For employees who have a minimum salary, the salary is increased simultaneously with the increase in the national minimum salary.

The company maintains a time payroll system, except for employees for which a system of piece salaries is used. The amount of salary is determined in the employment contract, subject to the remuneration setting principles.

In determining or reviewing an employee's salary, the line manager shall prepare a job description and write to the director – holder of the salary budget – an application on the employee's desired amount of salary, taking into account the following:

•    salary rate (upper limit) of the specific job of a full-time worker
•    the value of work in the particular region
•    workload of the particular position
•    assessment of the employee's qualification

Within the framework of the collective employment agreement, salary is reviewed annually to reflect the level of inflation in the country, performance of the company and individual departments.

The company pays the staff commissions for performing services as defined in the internal regulations.

Employees receive premiums in cases prescribed in national laws and regulations: for additional work, for work in special circumstances, night work, overtime work, work on weekends or holidays.

The company pays its employees the benefits prescribed for in the collective agreement. Within the limits of the company's financial capacity, it provides cash gifts on the Midsummer Festival and Christmas.
