The available print run of the stamp dedicated to the Victory Monument in Cesis is 25,000 copies, while the print run of the cover is 500 copies. The philatelic releases have been designed by the artist Ģirts Grīva.

The face value of the new stamp is €1.85, corresponding to the postage of items in the weight class up to 20 grams to countries in Groups 3 and 10.

The first day cancellation of the stamp is scheduled to take place at the Elizabetes Street post office, 41/43 Elizabetes Street, Riga, from 9 AM to 6 PM on the 6^th of September.  

The Victory Monument in Cesis was built in honour of the victory of the Latvian and Estonian army units in the Battle of Cesis during the Latvian War of Independence in June 1919 and the soldiers who lost their lives in combat.

In 1922, the Association of Estonian Soldiers put forward a proposal to construct a joint monument in memory of Latvian and Estonian soldiers fallen in the battle. A capsule with the names of 504 Estonian and more than 100 Latvian soldiers who lost their lives was embedded in the foundation of the Victory Monument, which was unveiled in 1924 by the then Latvian President Jānis Čakste.

During the Latvian Soviet Socialist Republic, on the night of the 25^th of March 1951, the monument was blown up and completely pulled down, with the purpose of eventually erecting a monument to Lenin nearby.

On the 22^nd of June 1998, the foundation stone of the restored monument was laid, and on the 15^th of November of the same year, the monument was unveiled with the participation of the President of the Republic of Latvia, Guntis Ulmanis, and the Speaker of the Parliament of the Republic of Estonia, Toomas Savi.

The Victory Monument, also known as the Freedom Monument and the Fallen Heroes Monument, serves as a symbol of triumph achieved in the flames of battle.

The new stamp will first be available for purchase at the Elizabetes Street post office and in the e-shop of Latvijas Pasts https://veikals.pasts.lv/.

The next philatelic release is scheduled for the 20^th of September.
