Application forms for domestic shipments

You can modify the original conditions of a registered or insured shipment by:

  • Visiting a customer centre or post office and submitting a completed application along with the required documents
  • Preparing the application and payment electronically

What is a domestic, registered, and insured shipment?

  • A domestic postal shipment is any shipment sent within the territory of Latvia.
  • A registered or insured shipment is one that is handed over with confirmation — you will receive a receipt upon posting, and the recipient will receive the item against a signature.

Change of shipment address

If you are a contract customer, you can request an address change through the Postal Services Sales Department.

The application will be reviewed within three working days.

Free-form application

If you are the sender

You can request an address change at any customer centre or post office.
Bring the completed application and the original receipt or posting confirmation.

If you are the recipient

If you know the shipment number, visit a customer centre or post office and fill out the application form.

What to include in your application?

  • Shipment number
  • Sender’s company name, contact phone number, and email address
  • Recipient’s full name or company name
  • Original delivery address
  • New address to which the shipment should be redirected

Change or correction of recipient information

If the application concerns a specific registered or insured domestic shipment, the recipient’s name or details can be changed or corrected.

The application will be reviewed within three working days.

Free-form application

If you are the sender

Visit any customer centre or post office and:

  • Submit the completed application
  • Present the original receipt or proof of posting

If you are the recipient

Please contact the sender – only the sender can request changes to recipient information.

What to include in your application?

  • Shipment number
  • Sender’s company name, contact phone number, and email address
  • Originally indicated recipient name or company name
  • Corrected recipient name or company name
  • New recipient address

Proof of delivery for a registered shipment

If you need a signature or exact delivery date for a registered or insured domestic shipment, you can request a proof of delivery within six months from the date the item was posted.

Application for domestic postal shipments

If you are the sender

You can request the service at any customer centre or post office by:

  • Submitting the completed application
  • Presenting the original receipt or posting confirmation

If you are the recipient

If you know the shipment number, visit a customer centre or post office and submit an application.

What to include in your application?

  • Shipment number
  • Sender’s full name or company name, phone number, and email address
  • Sender’s address
  • Recipient’s full name or company name
  • Recipient’s address

Extension of shipment storage period

Both you as the sender and the recipient may request an extension of the storage period at a customer centre or post office — for up to two months from the date of arrival.

Your application will be reviewed within three working days.

If you are the recipient

Know the shipment number? Fill in the application and request the service at any customer centre or post office.

  • Desired date until which the shipment should be stored

Change of cash-on-delivery (COD) amount

If you are the sender, you can request to increase or decrease the previously specified COD amount.

Important: The new COD amount must not exceed the insured value of the shipment.

Visit any customer centre or post office, fill in the application, and present the original receipt or proof of posting.

If you are the recipient

Please contact the sender – only the sender can request a change to the COD amoun

  • Initially specified COD amount
  • New COD amount

Shipment withdrawal – return to sender

If the shipment has not yet been delivered to the recipient, you as the sender can request to withdraw it and have it returned.

The postage fee will not be refunded if:

  • The shipment was paid for using postage stamps
  • The shipment has already been dispatched or placed into storage

Your application will be reviewed within three working days.

If you are the sender

Visit any customer centre or post office, submit your application, and present the original receipt or proof of posting.

If you are the recipient

Please contact the sender – only the sender can request shipment withdrawal.

Urgent domestic confirmation of registered shipment delivery

If you, as the sender or recipient, need a signature or the exact delivery date of a registered or insured domestic shipment, you may request a delivery confirmation within six months of the posting date.

Your application will be reviewed within two working days.

Visit any customer centre or post office, complete the application, and present the original receipt or proof of posting.

If you are the recipient

Know the shipment number? Then visit any customer centre or post office and submit the completed application.

Confirmation of delivery for a registered domestic shipment (6 months to 2 years after posting)

If you, as the sender or recipient, need confirmation of delivery, a signature, or the exact delivery date for a registered or insured domestic shipment, you can request this information between six months and two years after the shipment was sent.

Your application will be reviewed within two working day

Submit your application at any customer centre or post office. Bring the completed form and the original receipt or proof of posting.

If you are the recipient

Know the shipment number? Fill out the application and bring it to your nearest customer centre or post office.

Claim for a lost or damaged parcel locker shipment

If your parcel locker shipment has been lost or damaged, you can request more information and submit a compensation claim.

To review your application in accordance with Cabinet regulations, please ensure it contains all necessary details.

Refund request for a returned shipment containing prohibited items

If your shipment has been returned due to the presence of prohibited items, you as the sender can request a refund of the postage fee by submitting an application via email.

Please note:
A processing fee will be deducted from the refund amount in line with Latvijas Pasts’ service tariff guide.

If you’ve sent shipments in bulk, you can request a duplicate of the original shipment list.
The service fee is calculated in accordance with Latvijas Pasts’ service tariff guide.
