It is prohibited to transfer the following items or substances in
Postal consignments:
- narcotic or psychotropic substances.
- items or substances whose importation or circulation is prohibited in the receiving States.
- items or substances which by their nature or packaging, may soak or damage other Mail or Postal equipment.
- Perishable foods and other goods.
- explosive, flammable, radioactive, Perishable, Biological and infectious substances.
- articles and substances the Prohibition of transfer (transport) of which is laid down in the laws and regulations in the field of medicine or transport (aviation).
- transfer of animals, with the exception of bees, leeches and silkworm larvae. a
- Mail operator has the right to impose other restrictions on the content of the Mail, which are not contrary to the requirements of the Universal Postal Convention and other laws and regulations.
* money, coins, bonds and securities of any Kind (cheques) may be a sent as insured items, if permitted by national law.
* * * liquids in air mail are accepted only from known customers who have submitted safety data sheets (to be submitted in advance) for the products and said documents have been tested by the dangerous goods expert. The minimum safety Packing requirements for liquid/semi-liquid substances should also be respected.
Airlines may also impose other content restrictions.
In addition, each country's specific requirements and prohibitions should be respected.
