Universal Postal Service tariff changes

On 19 August 2025, Latvijas Pasts submitted a postal service pricing proposal to the Public Utilities Commission. The proposal was prepared in accordance with the Methodology for Calculating the Tariffs of the Universal Postal Service.

Special tariff proposal

Changes to the Special Pricing of the Universal Postal Service are also planned from 1 January 2026. Along with these changes, the service terms Application of Special Pricing to Domestic and International Postal Shipments will also be updated.

Customers will be able to review the updated service terms before they enter into force in the self-service platform mans.pasts.lv, under “Services attached to the agreement” in their user profile.

Tariff changes

The new pricing will take effect in accordance with the Law on Regulators of Public Services. Latvijas Pasts proposes that it should enter into force on 1 January 2026.

The pricing changes are related to:

  • changes in customer behaviour and a decline in traditional shipment volumes,
  • rising transport and logistics costs,
  • increasing costs of international settlements and energy resources,
  • growth in employee remuneration.
Discounts

From 1 January 2026, the discount for tracked, registered and insured shipments prepared in the self-service platform mans.pasts.lv will change.
A discount of EUR 0.46 (excluding VAT) will apply to Universal Postal Service shipments.

Universal Postal Service tariffs for 2026
