Ways of receiving letters

Courier

Delivery at address

You can receive a registered or insured shipment directly at the address indicated on the parcel, at a customer service centre, post office, or from the postman. If you're not at the specified address during delivery, we will leave a notification inviting you to collect the shipment at the nearest customer service centre or post office.

To ensure your shipments are delivered safely and on time, make sure your mailbox is clearly marked with the correct address, is in good condition, and can be securely locked.

Registered and insured mail

Damaged Shipment

When receiving a registered or insured shipment, inspect its contents in the presence of a postal worker or courier.

If you notice missing contents, visible damage, weight discrepancies, or other issues, an official report will be drawn up and signed by both You and the postal employee. The sender may also contact the postal operator to initiate an investigation. Pasts will carry out an internal review to determine the cause of the damage.

If the shipment is opened without the presence of a postal employee, we are unable to verify any damage or irregularities. In such cases, please contact the sender with your claim.

If damage or missing items are discovered later, take photographs, describe the issue, and contact the sender to arrange a replacement or refund. In such cases, compensation is not the responsibility of Pasts, but we will provide guidance on the appropriate steps to take.

Forwarding of correspondence

You can divert mail to another address

You can redirect the following types of shipments for delivery within Latvia:

  • Domestic and international simple and registered letter-post items
  • Underpaid letter-post items
  • Notifications regarding the receipt / delivery / payment / registration of domestic or international shipments
  • Proof of delivery for registered or insured domestic postal items

 

This service is only available for items to be received in Latvia.

Authorisation for Shipment Collection

Shipments can be delivered either to You as the recipient or to a person authorised by You. The authorised person can collect the shipment at the delivery address, Customer Centre, or Post Office by presenting a passport or ID card along with the authorisation form, or by providing the authorisation number.
