Registered Postal Items

Letter

Registered letter is a type of postal item that allows you to mail different types of correspondence in an envelope.

Registered letters are accepted for mailing domestically and abroad.

• Prepare in accordance with the Rules on Consigning Postal Items
• Pay and submit for postage at any postal office

Small Packet

In a small packet you can send unbreakable small items except documents, printed matter and written communication.

Registered small packets are accepted for domestic and international shipping.

The wrapping must ensure that the content is preserved during transportation. The value of the contents must not exceed 350 EUR.

It is forbidden to send items that are prohibited to import in destination country and that are proxibited to export from Latvia. More information about prohibitions is available in postal offices and in the International postal item acceptance handbook.

• To accelerate customs clearance for international small packets, fill in this form in English, French or in a language accepted by the destination country
• Pay in cash or with a payment card
• Form accordingly to Item addressing rules
• Send in any postal office by presenting a personal identification document (Passport or identity card) or driving licence.
   

Parcel

In a registered parcel, you can mail industrial, household, cultural goods, food and other items with or without commercial value.

Registered parcels are accepted for mailing domestically and abroad.
 

• Pay for postage in cash or by card
• Prepare in accordance with the Rules on Consigning Postal Items;
• Submit it for postage at any post office;
• To accelerate customs clearance for international parcels, fill in this form in English, French or in a language accepted by the destination country.

International parcels must not include items that are prohibited from being imported into the country of delivery, as well as items prohibited from being exported from Latvia.

Proof of delivery (POD)

You will receive a notification confirming that the addressee has received the registered and insured postal item.

Apply for this by filling in CN07 form available at post offices. For domestic postal items, you can use a PS4 form, available at manspasts.lv.

Pay for postage by sticking postage stamps on postcards, letters and printed papers. In case of other registered items, charges for additional services are included in the total amount.
 

Additional services are subject to the value-added tax (21%), which is included in the specified rate.

Cumbersome Parcels

You can mail parcels of a non-standard shape and size:

• For domestic parcels, the sum of length and the largest perimeter up to 450 cm, neither dimension may exceed 200 cm
• For international parcels, the sum of length and the largest perimeter up to 300 cm, neither dimension may exceed 150 cm

Weight restrictions are the same as for standard parcels. You may also use additional service “Fragile (Colis Fragile)”.

Label “Cumbersome Parcels (Encombrant)” is put on the item.

Half of the total value of the item is added for “Cumbersome Parcels” and “Fragile (Colis Fragile)” postal items. The additional service fee is added to the total postage fee of the items.

For international shipments, the availability of the additional service is determined by the postal operator of the addressee’s state of residence.

Fragile (Colis Fragile)

You can mail parcels with fragile contents, when special care is needed throughout the delivery.

Pack the parcel according to its weight, shape and content to ensure its preservation during the transportation. Otherwise, we can refuse accepting the particular item.

Weight and dimension restrictions are the same as for standard parcels. 

You can also use additional service “Cumbersome Parcels”.

Label “Fragile (Colis Fragile)” is put on the item.

Half of the total value of the item is added for “Cumbersome Parcels” and “Fragile (Colis Fragile)” postal items. The additional service fee is added to the total postage fee of the items.

For international shipments, the availability of the additional service is determined by the postal operator of the addressee’s state of residence.

Office Pick-up

A postman visits your office and accepts postal items to be mailed to addressees.

If you are a manager of an office building or there are several offices in the address, use the service “Business Centre Pick-up”.

We accept both domestic and international postal items:

• Letter mail – ordinary, registered and insured
• Parcels – ordinary and insured

Documents necessary for submitting postal items to the postman can be prepared at system Mans Pasts.

• All orders of a particular month in a single invoice
• In business centres, the service can be used by several companies simultaneously, thus reducing costs
• You can also submit items not paid for without postal stamps or labels
