Ordinary Postal Items

Ordinary items that you can receive in your mailbox, if size fits.

 

To receive postal items in a timely and safe manner, make sure that the name of the company or office number is specified on your mailbox, the mailbox is in good technical condition, and its contents cannot be accessed by others.

If the item does not fit in the addressee’s mailbox due to its size, we leave a notification to receive the item at a postal office. A repeated notification is sent if the addressee does not pick up the item within 5 days. If the addressee does not pick up the item within 30 days after receiving the first notification, the item is returned to the address specified by the sender.

PO Box

We offer subscribing for a locker for safe receipt of postal items at a post office. In a PO box, you can receive postal items mailed to the address of the box and newspapers you have subscribed for.
 

Subscribing for a PO Box

Apply for a PO box at the post office where you would like to have it:

  • Fill in Application PS50a on Subscribing for a PO Box
  • Present an identity document
  • Submit copies of the registration certificate of the company and articles of association (also presenting original documents)
  • Submit the statement of the Register of Enterprises and the power of attorney that certifies your position and your representation rights
  • Pay for the subscription in cash, by card or bank transfer.
  • Receive a key
     

Receiving Items

To receive postal items in your PO box, include the following information in your address:

  • Name of the company
  • No. of the PO box
  • Name of the post office
  • Name of the populated area
  • Postal code

Redirection of Correspondence

You can redirect the following items to another address:

  • Domestic and international ordinary and registered letter mail
  • CN07 notice on the receipt/delivery/payment/registration for/of a domestic or an international item
  • PS4 notice on delivery of a registered domestic postal item

Apply for redirection at a post office:

  • Fill in an application for redirection, specifying the following information: name of the company,address, from which the correspondence shall be redirected, address, to which the correspondence shall be redirected, period of redirection (minimum period of service – 1 month)
  • Present an identity document
  • Submit the statement of the Register of Enterprises and the power of attorney that certifies your position and your representation rights
  • Pay for the service in cash, by card or bank transfer.
     

The service is ensured as of the fifth business day from submitting the application at the post office.

A filled-in application can also be sent to the Service Sales Department of “Latvijas Pasts” at Ziemelu Street 10, Riga International Airport, Marupe District, LV-1000 or to e-mail uznemumiem@pasts.lv, according to the laws and regulations on drawing up electronic documents.

You can receive a SMS notification about a postal item addressed to you that depending on postal item type Latvijas Pasts could not deliver to you or place in your mailbox if a mobile phone number is indicated on postal item addressed to you. In that case, you will receive an SMS about the postal item with invitation to receive it at postal office. To receive the item in post office, the addressee must show the SMS and identity document. 

A repeated notification is placed in recipient’s mailbox, if the addressee does not pick up the item within 5 days from the day of receipt in post office.

Important!

  • Save the SMS about a shipment till the item’s pick up in post office!
  • Latvijas Pasts invites all customers to indicate correctly their cell phone numbers, as this will ensure faster receipt of information about the shipment, what is addressed to you.
