All types of lithium batteries are classified as Dangerous Goods, therefore special regulations apply to Postal items containing lithium metal or lithium-ion batteries. These restrictions apply to all outgoing international Postal items containing lithium metal or lithium-ion batteries, but do not apply to outbound domestic Postal items.
Items containing lithium batteries can be sent by Latvijas Pasts if:
To ensure that all safety requirements are met, the package must be submitted to the Postal operator open. Devices or items containing lithium batteries must be new and in their original packaging. Used or damaged devices containing lithium batteries are not accepted. Devices or items containing lithium batteries cannot be sent in one package together with other items (for example: mobile phones cannot be sent together with sweets or clothes).

Please note that it is forbidden to send lithium batteries that are not installed in equipment, as well as spare batteries. Latvijas Pasts also does not accept items with batteries such as: power banks, small vehicles powered by lithium batteries, musical cards, vapes (electronic cigarettes), medium and large drones, power banks a.o.
! Attention! If there is postal item containing batteries sent without undergoing safety check by Postal operator (package not submitted open), the package will be stopped at X-ray security check as unsafe and returned to the sender.
