Latvijas Pasts in cooperation with the Narvesen retail chain is significantly expanding the package delivery services project, offering customers to receive incoming international and domestic packages already at 117 Narvesen stores throughout Latvia. The recipient is notified about the possibilities of receiving the package with a text message.

The package delivery project in cooperation with Narvesen is an initiative of Latvijas Pasts, and in the initial period since March it operated in only ten main Narvesen stores in Latvia’s largest cities. After evaluating the project’s results over the course of more than six months, the decision was taken to significantly expand the cooperation. At present, the service is available to residents of Riga, Daugavpils, Liepāja, Ventspils, Jūrmala, Jelgava, Jēkabpils, Rēzekne, Ogre and other Latvian cities in a wide geographical range. "Online shopping services are becoming more and more popular along with increased mobility of people, so, to walk in step with the time and adapt to the habits of the modern customer, our most important task is ensuring maximum availability of the services. Latvijas Pasts is working and will continue to work to allow customers to receive packages at the most convenient place and time. The expansion of cooperation with the Narvesen retail chain is only one of the steps in achieving these goals," underlines Latvijas Pasts Chairman of the Board Arnis Salnājs.

Narvesen Procurement Department Head Jānis Peičs notes he sees further development potential of the service: "Customers are our greatest asset, and we regularly work on expanding our range of services so that Narvesen customers could conveniently receive the services they need at one place. Taking into consideration the customers’ needs and the latest market trends associated with rapid development of e-services, we are ready to offer the residents of Latvia wider possibilities of receiving online orders at Narvesen stores. We see potential for additional development of the service in the future, as Narvesen with its 245 stores throughout Latvia has the potential to significantly complement the network of post offices, offering more flexible working hours and selection of the location for receipt of packages."

By using the Latvijas Pasts service Ekstra Pasts, customers are able to select the place of collection of incoming domestic and international packages - not only any of the 117 Narvesen stores, but also 59 Statoil filling stations, or any post office. When ordering products online, at the beginning of the delivery address it is necessary to specify the post code of the place of collection and the recipient’s mobile phone number. Each location - the 117 Narvesen stores and 59 Statoil filling stations - has been assigned a unique post code.

Narvesen stores and Statoil filling stations issue packages with weight not exceeding seven kilograms - heavier packages will be sent to the respective post office. Packages at Narvesen and Statoil can be collected within 10 days after the receipt of the notice.

More information about the terms of the Ekstra Pasts service is available here.
