Most Latvijas Pasts post offices to be closed during holidays; last delivery date before holidays - December 20

From December 23 to 26 and on December 30 and 31, 2013, almost all Latvijas Pasts post offices will be closed; only some offices in the largest shopping malls will be open, and some offices will have changed working times. January 1, 2014, will be a holiday for all post offices. On two Saturdays of December - on December 14 and 28 - all Latvijas Pasts post offices will be open to customers; press publications and other mail will also be delivered on those dates. Latvijas Pasts urges everyone not to put off the mailing of greetings and gifts to the last minute, and reminds that the last mail delivery date before the holidays is December 20.

To allow people to enjoy several free days in a row, two working days in December have been moved - Monday, December 23, has been switched with Saturday, December 14, and Monday, December 30, has been switched with Saturday, December 28. Therefore, the last press and mail delivery date before Christmas is December 20, and the last delivery date before the New Year is December 28.

Newspapers and magazines will not be published from December 21 to 26, on December 30 and 31, and on January 1, 2014. The delivery of press to subscribers will begin on Thursday, January 2.
