Latvijas Pasts announces search for best postal carrier and best post office operator of each region

Today, February 19, Latvijas Pasts in collaboration with the newspaper Latvijas Avīze launches a contest of letters Mans pastnieks (My postal carrier) in search of the most efficient and approachable postal carrier and post office operator in each region of Latvia. Everyone living in Latvia may vote for their favorite postal carrier and post office operator by writing a heartwarming story or describing a funny incident and sending it by regular mail or electronically to the newspaper office.

Postal carriers and post office operators are Latvijas Pasts employees who communicate with the company's customers on a daily basis through their helpful service in one of more than 600 post offices across Latvia or by delivering mail to any location throughout the country, be it a home address or work address. In appreciation of the efforts, sense of responsibility and professionalism of the postal carriers and post office operators, Latvijas Pasts in collaboration with the newspaper Latvijas Avīze calls for the people of the country to write a letter telling a story about their favorite postal carrier or post office operator.

The contest of letters Mans pastnieks aims at identifying the best postal carrier and the best post office operator in each region of Latvia: Riga, Kurzeme, Vidzeme, Zemgale and Latgale. The title of Mans pastnieks will be awarded to five representatives of each type of the postal service providers who will be featured in a positive light in the biggest number of letters.

The postal carriers and post office operators with the highest assessment rates will receive valuable prizes from Latvijas Pasts, while the authors of the best letters will be given a gift certificate valued at EUR 50 for subscription to print media by Latvijas Avīze and a set of all the stamps released by Latvijas Pasts in 2013. The most heartwarming and fascinating stories will be published in the newspaper Latvijas Avīze.

The adventure stories and descriptions of amusing incidents, as well as letters of thanks and appreciation for the postal carriers and post office operators should be sent in by March 12, 2014 and addressed to Latvijas Avīze newspaper office at 21 Dzirnavu Street, Riga, LV-1010 (marked Mans pastnieks) or sent electronically by filling in the special form here.

This is the third time in this year that Latvijas Pasts has called for the people to vote for their favorite postal carrier and post office operator, but this is the first time that the title of Mans pastnieks will be awarded to the best postal carrier and post office operator in each region of Latvia. Everyone is welcome to take this opportunity and say thanks to their postal carrier and post office operator.
