Regarding proposal of Latvijas Pasts to Ministry of Transport to initiate amendments to Cabinet’s Regulation on Requirements for Delivery of Registered and Insured Postal Items

27.03.2014

By the end of this week, Latvijas Pasts will send its proposal to the Ministry of Transport to initiate amendments to Paragraph 3 of Cabinet’s Regulation No. 537 on Requirements for Delivery of Registered and Insured Postal Items, providing that the items worth up to EUR 150 could be issued to the addressee also upon showing his or her driver’s license. Latvijas Pasts will coordinate a solution with the Ministry of Transport so that starting from April 1 the aforementioned postal items could be issued to the customers upon showing their driver’s license, without obliging the customers to show their proof of identity, which is either a passport or an identity card.
