24.07.2014

Positivusfestival visitors could take advantage of the opportunity to send greetings to their favorite musicians who were entertaining the audience with their performances for three days during the festival. Most greeting cards wereaddressed to British pop singer Ellie Goulding. Close to 1000 postcards with the special Positivus cancellation were mailed from the festival grounds to different countries of the world.

To cheer up the artists performing at Positivus, festival visitors were also keen to send greeting cards specially created for this event by Latvijas Pasts to the musician King Charles, the groups The Kooks and Carnival Youth, as well as other performers.

Besides, all festival visitors had the opportunity to send postcards with the special Positivus cancellation from the festival venue to their friends, family or neighbors in any country in the world. Close to 1000 postcards were mailed, most of which traveled to recipients outside Latvia - to China, Canada, New Zealand, Australia and other countries in Europe.

This was the third year that Eksprespasts of Latvijas Pasts offered Positivus festival visitors to ship their belongings to the festival venue and send them back home after the festival was over. For the most part, various practical things were shipped, including tents, sleeping bags, clothes and other belongings needed during the festival. Positivus visitors took the occasion to mail different items through Eksprespasts, such as souvenirs bought during Positivus as gifts for friends and acquaintances. Most shipments traveled to addressees in Latvia and Estonia.

For two more days, until July 25, any Positivus visitor who took pictures of the festival's highlights with a smartphone or tablet and posted them on the photo sharing network Instagram, may log in on the website www.nosutipastkarti.lv set up by Latvijas Pasts with his or her Twitter account, create a unique postcard and send it to any recipient anywhere in Latvia for free. All pictures which will be uploaded to the website www.nosutipastkarti.lv will make the Positivus picture wall, evoking the vivid memories of the brightest musical events of the summer. At the moment, there are almost 400 unique Positivus postcards featured on the picture wall.

In 2013, Positivus festival visitors sent most greeting cards to the groups Sigur Ros, The Sound Poets and Imagine Dragons. Last year, more than 900 postcards were mailed from the festival grounds, of which 67% traveled to recipients outside Latvia. Back in 2012, most Positivus greeting cards were received by the group Instrumenti, as well as musicians Damien Rice and King Charles; close to 800 postcards were mailed from the festival venue, of which 35% were intended for addressees outside Latvia.
