155,000 subscriptions processed during two months of Latvijas Pasts subscription campaign; campaign to continue its run until December 28

Nearly 155 thousand press subscriptions have been processed at Latvijas Pasts during the first two months of the subscription campaign, and this is more than in the same period in 2013. The experience of Latvijas Pasts shows that high subscription activity is also usually observed during December, which is the last month of the subscription campaign. This year, Latvijas Pasts is running the campaign until December 28.

The number of subscriptions to magazines and newspapers made using any of the subscription channels offered by Latvijas Pasts until December has increased by 5% compared to the same period last year. Comparison of the results in the first month of the campaign shows that the overall number of the subscriptions is levelling out relating to 2013. Therefore, it is still too early to predict what will be the subscription dynamics as a result of the entire campaign.

During the two months of the subscription campaign, compared with the same period in 2013, a slight increase has been observed in the number of press subscriptions for the period of 10 to 12 months: 81% of all subscriptions have been made for the said period, which is by 5% more than in 2013. 11% of subscriptions are for 6 to 9 months, 7% – for 1 to 3 months, and the least amount – 1% – are for 4 to 5 months.

The continued upwards trend of e-subscriptions is observed this year as well: compared to last year, the number of magazine and newspaper subscriptions made through e-subscription service and over the phone has increased by nearly a fourth. 37% of subscriptions during the two months of the subscription campaign have been made on the website www.abone.pasts.lv and by calling info lines 67008001 and 27008001.

The highest subscription activity is still observed in rural regions (77% of all subscriptions); 16% of subscriptions have been made in Riga and 7% – in other major cities of Latvia.

In 2015, Latvijas Pasts will continue to offer its customers the service Subscribe today and receive in two business days. By selecting this option, the customers will receive subscribed titles that are published more often than once a month and that do not have only a full-month subscription just in two working days after the day of subscription. The titles covered by the service Subscribe today and receive in two business days are listed in Subscription Catalog 2015.

The subscription campaign 2015 will be held until this year’s December 28. Subscription to newspapers and magazines issued in Latvia for 2015 through the dedicated website of Latvijas Pasts www.abone.pasts.lv, at post offices with an online connection and from the mail carrier will run until December 28. If you want to subscribe to newspapers and magazines at another place where postal services are supplied or by calling the information desk, you can do it until December 18.

Subscription to newspapers and magazines issued abroad is open until December 15 on the website www.abone.pasts.lv, at post offices with an online connection and from the mail carrier, and until December 12 at other places where postal services are provided or by calling the information line. A detailed subscription schedule is available on the website www.abone.pasts.lv or at the nearest post office.
