Latvijas Pasts will deliver the postcards to the addressees across Latvia free of charge.

From September 2 to 14, the glazed passage of Galerija Centrs or former Rīdzenes Street will become the venue for the exhibition Aspazija/Rainis: Rebel/Humanist. A Story of Two Latvian Poets held by the Association of Memorial Museums. The program of the Poetry Days can be viewed here.

In Latvia, 2015 is the year of Rainis and Aspazija. 2015 marks 150 years since the birth of these contemporaries and spouses. Rainis and Aspazija are authors and public figures at the European and global level. For more than a century, these personalities and their work have been a role model for Latvian literature and socio-political thought. These great masters have made an invaluable contribution to bringing the western philosophical thought closer to Latvia and its development as well as nurturing the idea of a free and independent Latvia. In assessing the contribution of the poets, UNESCO has included the 150th anniversary of the two great names in the calendar of celebrations 2014 - 2015.
