Most greetings to dads travel to Valmiera; on the 10th of September unique pictures to dads can be sent from Vērmanes Garden

Most greetings during the Father’s Day postcard sending campaign held by Latvijas Pasts and the Latvian parents’ organisation Mammamuntetiem.lv will travel to dads in Valmiera and surroundings. A total of 16,000 postcards to addressees throughout Latvia have been filled in by those who took this opportunity to send a greeting on the Father’s Day. In addition, the Father’s Day Festival, which will take place in Vērmanes Garden this Saturday, the 10th of September 2016, offers everyone a chance to send unique pictures with a special dedication to dads from Vērmanes Garden through the website http://www.nosutipastkarti.lv/.

During the second Father’s Day postcard sending campaign where all people living in Latvia have been invited to send a free postcard to their dads, granddads or godfathers using their account on the social networks Facebook or Twitter, most greetings will be delivered to dads in Valmiera, Liepāja and Ventspils regions: 279 postcards will travel to Valmiera, 271 – to Liepāja and 244 – to Ventspils. More than 16,000 Father’s Day greetings have been sent throughout Latvia during the campaign, which is by 1,000 more than in the first dads’ greeting campaign in 2014.

Facebook users have been the most active during the Father’s Day postcard sending campaign this year: 10,229 interested people have logged in from this network to send postcards, compared to 1,469 who have logged in from Twitter.

Most postcards have been sent from mobile devices: 66.8% of users have used this option to greet their dads.

There is also an opportunity to send a unique picture to one’s dad during the Father’s Day Festival on the 10th of September by visiting the Latvijas Pasts photo wall dedicated to dads as part of the event organised by Mammamuntetiem.lv, taking a photo by the wall and uploading the picture on the website http://www.nosutipastkarti.lv/. Latvijas Pasts will create a special photo postcard and send it to the addressees with accurate postal addresses within Latvia free of charge. Pictures for sending may be uploaded on both the 10th and the 11th of September.

To promote the tradition of sending postcards among the audience using mainly the options offered by the modern technology in the Internet environment for everyday communication, Latvijas Pasts holds regular campaigns on social networks, encouraging everyone to send original postcards on various holidays and events. Traditionally, Latvijas Pasts sends out most greetings during the Mother’s Day postcard sending campaign.
