Preparing for an increase in the number of items at the end of the year, 32 post offices are extending their opening hours in November and December

Preparing for an increase in the number of items at the end of the year, a total of 32 Latvijas Pasts post offices in Riga and the surrounding municipalities, as well as in Latgale region are extending their opening hours for two months starting from November. Most post offices will have their opening hours extended by a few hours on Saturdays and some post offices in Riga will work longer also on workdays.

In order to attend to customers more efficiently and provide faster processing of postal services, the busiest post offices in Riga, Riga region and Latgale will have their opening hours extended by a few hours mainly on Saturdays in November and December. Already in November the Saturday opening hours will be extended by three hours in five post offices and by one hour in two post offices in Riga and surroundings, while one of the post offices, No. 21, will work one hour longer also every workday.

In turn, in December a total of 21 post offices in Riga and Riga region will extend their Saturday working time by three hours and two post offices – by one hour, while the opening hours of three post offices will be longer by one hour also on workdays.

The eight post offices in the largest cities of Latgale – Balvi, Daugavpils, Krāslava, Ludza, Preiļi and Rēzekne – will have their Saturday opening hours extended by two hours in November and December.

Analysing the current situation regarding the acceptance and delivery of items, as well as the provision of other postal services in the busiest months at the end of the year, Latvijas Pasts will assess the need for additional changes aimed at improving the customer service in the post offices.
