Special stands set up in Daugavpils, Jelgava and Ventspils post offices for quick and easy ordering of goods from the online shop 220.lv

Special stands for the quickest and easiest possible ordering and delivery of goods have been set up in the largest Latvijas Pasts post offices in three Latvian cities – Daugavpils, Jelgava and Ventspils – in collaboration with the online shop 220.lv. When placing an order until 2 PM on a weekday, the selected items can be received in the particular post office the next working day. Thereby, the opportunity of using the modern e-commerce and postal services is also provided to regional customers who have no Internet connection at home.

The shopping stands have been installed in Daugavpils post office No. 1, Post Centre Jelgava and Ventspils post office No. 1. The principle of operation of the stands is simple: the customer selects the desired goods and places an order there, and if the items are in stock and the order is placed until 2 PM on a weekday, the customer can receive the purchased goods the next working day in the same post office where the stand is located. The stands of 220.lv have so far been set up only in Latvijas Pasts – the mentioned method of ordering and delivery of goods is considered to be an unprecedented solution in the Latvian e-commerce environment.

Mārīte Bahromkina, Director of Eksprespasts Department of Latvijas Pasts, points out: “Bearing in mind that many customers use the opportunity to shop online and receive the purchased goods in the post office, we have started another cooperation project with the online shop 220.lv. From now on the customers will have the opportunity to place orders in some post offices and receive most items in the same post office the very next day. We are confident that our project will gain a lot of recognition from the customers at the end of the year, which is a busy time for buying gifts, and it will be appreciated by those customers who consider shopping online to be an excellent alternative to traditional shopping.”

In turn, the Member of the Board of 220.lv Laila Snidzāne emphasises: “Our new offer makes online shopping more accessible, because the stands offer the possibility to shop also to those customers who have no Internet connection at home. The stands have so far been installed only in Latvijas Pasts – this solution of ordering and delivery of goods is an unprecedented project in the history of Latvian e-commerce. We are confident that the customers will recognise it as an efficient way to shop and will actively use it. So these are only the first three steps of the development of the project on an increasingly larger scale.”

In August this year Eksprespasts of Latvijas Pasts started cooperation with Latvian biggest online shop 220.lv, providing customers with a more attractive and wider delivery network across the country: the goods purchased in the online shop are promptly delivered by Eksprespasts couriers to any of 497 post offices and 59 Statoil fuel stations in all regions of Latvia at the option of the customer. The customer activity amounts to hundreds of orders every day.

220.lv started cooperation with Eksprespasts of Latvijas Pasts after assessing both the unique delivery network offered by the company in Latvia, as well as the technological investment of Latvijas Pasts in the data exchange systems necessary for the online shop and the related hardware. These services are used by both private persons and legal entities, and delivery is also possible for items of large volume and amount.
