Some post offices in shopping centres will be open on the 18th of November; pensions and benefits will be paid on an earlier date

On the 18th of November 2016, the 98th Proclamation Day of the Republic of Latvia, most Latvijas Pasts post offices will be closed; only some post offices in the largest shopping centres will be open. On the day before the holiday, the 17th of November, the post offices will be working in accordance with the Thursday schedule. Pensions and benefits will be paid on an earlier date.

Pensions and benefits to be received by customers at their place of residence on the 15th and 16th of November will be delivered and paid to them on the 15th of November; the 16th of November will be the payout day for those customers whose pensions and benefits are scheduled for the 17th and 18th of November, while pensions and benefits scheduled for the 19th and 20th of November will be paid on the 17th of November.

Newspapers and magazines will not come out on the 18th of November. Telegrams will not be delivered on that day. Western Union money transfer services during the public holiday will be provided at most of the post offices that will be open.

Detailed information on changes in the opening hours is also available in Latvijas Pasts post offices.
