Latvijas Pasts opens a new postal item delivery center in Daugavpils

After assessing the availability of postal services and its usage trends in Daugavpils, Latvijas Pasts has opened a special center for postal item delivery. From April 1st, 2017, the residents of Daugavpils borough Jaunā Forštate, whose postal codes are LV-5421, LV-5422 and LV-5492, will be able to receive all common and registered dispatches at 26 Avenu Street. On top of that, providing a more effective customer service, since February 7th there are three employees in Daugavpils post office No. 17 providing services instead of just two.

The new postal item delivery center in Daugavpils will be open every weekday - on Mondays from 10 AM till 8 PM, and other days from 10 AM till 5 PM. Should customers actively use the opportunity to receive consignments in the new delivery center, a full-service post office will be opened in the area.

To receive any other postal services, it is possible to use other nearby area post offices: Daugavpils post office No. 1 at 42a Riga Street, Daugavpils post office No. 2 at 9 Riga Street, or Daugavpils post office No. 10 at 78b Jatnieku Street.

Customers can also conveniently use Daugavpils Statoil gas stations for item delivery at Ventspils iela 28 and 97a Stacijas Street. Extra information on postal item pick-up options at Statoil is available here.

Daugavpils residents can also receive the required postal services at their place of residence directly from the mail carrier, if they are experiencing difficulties getting to the location of postal service provider. The mail carrier provides money transfer and receipt of pension at the place of residence, payment of public utilities and other bills, purchase of stamps and envelopes, postcard and letter mailing, subscription to periodicals, ordering postal item delivery at home a.o. services.

Since February there is a multi-functional In-Out customer flow regulation system machine operating at Daugavpils post office No. 1, which enables customers to apply for services remotely via the mobile app of Latvijas Pasts in their phone. More information on remote application is available here. In 2017 Latvijas Pasts has planned to introduce the customer flow regulation system in 35 other post offices, including one other post office in Daugavpils.

The residents of Daugavpils borough Jaunā Forštate have been informed about the possibility of postal item pick-up after April 1st, through informative announcements in their post boxes since March 14. You can reach the new postal item delivery center by calling 65420040 or 25701937.

The number of locations delivering postal services and their placement in Daugavpils is determined by the Public Utilities Commission Council decision On Universal Postal Service Obligations, that state that Latvijas Pasts must ensure at least five immovable locations providing postal services. Latvijas Pasts has fulfilled this obligation by providing postal services at six post offices.
