Eksprespasts of Latvijas Pasts receives international award for the best express mail service in Europe and the third best in the world

Eksprespasts of Latvijas Pasts, which provides special delivery services in Latvia and abroad, has been ranked as the best express mail delivery company in Europe and the third best worldwide in the international study carried out by the audit firm PriceWaterhouseCoopers. The activities of Eksprespasts of Latvijas Pasts have been recognized with the gold level performance award by the Universal Postal Union’s Express Mail Service (EMS) Cooperative. The ceremonial presentation of the award was held in Berne, Switzerland, and the award was given only to express mail service providers of five countries out of a total of 196 countries competing.

The study was carried out in all the companies of the Universal Postal Union’s EMS Cooperative on a quarterly basis over 2016, assessing such quality indicators of express mail item delivery as delivery time, data exchange, provision of prompt responses to international postal operators, item traceability throughout the process of delivery, timely communication with customers in the call centres, etc. in a total of 196 countries.

The international assessment of Eksprespasts of Latvijas Pasts was high enough to secure the first place in Europe. The fifth and the eighth places were awarded to the express mail service providers of the Netherlands and Slovakia respectively. On the global scale Eksprespasts of Latvijas Pasts was ranked third after the express mail service companies of Hong Kong and South Korea. The high level of the services provided by Eksprespasts was recognised with the gold level performance award, which, apart from Latvia, was given in the European region only to the Netherlands. The ceremonial presentation of the award was held at the EMS Cooperative General Assembly in Berne, Switzerland.

“The basis for successful operation is regular customer service improvements, which enable more efficient communication with customers and cooperation partners both in Latvia and abroad. Another key argument is the implementation of various technical solutions in the field of data exchange, providing a faster delivery service,” Ansis Karahons, the Director of the Express Mail Department of Latvijas Pasts, points out. As part of the continuing investment in the express mail service, a new and more powerful customer service phone line was opened this year, allowing for speedier provision of the necessary information to customers. In addition, it is planned to provide the couriers with new mobile terminals aimed at more efficient exchange of data in order to ensure even higher quality and better control options.

The results of Eksprespasts of Latvijas Pasts in the PriceWaterhouseCoopers study commissioned by the EMS Cooperative have been corresponding to the top positions in the competition among express mail service companies in both Europe and the world for several years. Eksprespasts delivers items to 58 countries worldwide and receives them from as many countries for delivery to customers in Latvia. In 2016 the number of Eksprespasts items increased by 65,000 units, amounting to approximately one million items, while the volume of express mail items which the customers chose to collect from Statoil (Circle-K) fuel stations, a cooperation partner of Latvijas Pasts, grew by over 700%.

In 2017 Eksprespasts of Latvijas Pasts continues to develop special offers for online shops, simplifying and speeding up the process for the delivery and receipt of items.
