Some post offices in shopping centres will be open during the public holidays; the 5th of May will be a regular working day at Latvijas Pasts

Only some Latvijas Pasts post offices in the largest shopping centres will provide postal services during the public holidays of 2017 on the 1st and 4th of May. On the 5th of May all post offices will be working in accordance with the regular Friday schedule. The customers who get their benefits and pensions granted by the State Social Insurance Agency (VSAA) delivered to their place of residence through the intermediary of Latvijas Pasts with the expected pay-out period from the 5th to the 7th of May will receive the money at an earlier date. 

Only some post offices in the largest shopping centres will be open during the public holidays: Labour Day on the 1st of May and Restoration of Independence Day on the 4th of May. The list of the post offices to be open during the public holidays is available here. Detailed information on changes in the opening hours will also be available on the spot in all post offices.

Latvijas Pasts will also be working on the 5th of May: on this day the post offices will be open and periodicals and postal items will be delivered to customers. On the 13th of May Latvijas Pasts will be working in accordance with the regular Saturday schedule.

Pensions and benefits granted by the VSAA as monthly payments that are to be received by the customers at their place of residence on the 6th of May will be delivered on the 3rd of May, and the 5th of May will be the pay-out day for those customers whose pensions and benefits are to be paid on the 5th and 7th of May. 

Western Union money transfer services during the public holidays will be provided in most of the post offices that will be open.
