Fourth Member of the Board of Latvijas Pasts appointed

In accordance with the Law on Governance of Capital Shares of a Public Person and Capital Companies, the Council of Latvijas Pasts has appointed the fourth Member of the Board of the company for a term of office of five years starting from the 15th of June 2017. The person appointed to this position is Agris Timma, whose previous work experience is also connected with the postal and logistics industry. The need for appointing a new Member of the Board is due to the fact that one of the former Members of the Board submitted a request for termination of his authorisation contract as of the 13th of February 2017. 

A.Timma has been appointed to the position of a Member of the Board of Latvijas Pasts as a result of an open competition. The Member of the Board was selected in accordance with the rules of the competition for the selection and evaluation of candidates, and the candidates were evaluated within the competition by the nomination committee, composed of the representatives of the Employers’ Confederation of Latvia, the Cross-Sectoral Coordination Centre and the Council of Latvijas Pasts.  

A.Timma’s previous work experience is connected with the postal and logistics industry, including work in managerial positions in both Latvijas Pasts and Subscription and Delivery Centre ACD SIA. A.Timma holds a higher professional qualification in Economics from BA School of Business and Finance. 

Dairis Kārkliņš, a former Member of the Board of Latvijas Pasts, submitted an application for termination of his authorisation contract as of the 13th of February 2017.

Besides A.Timma, the persons who currently continue work in the Board of Latvijas Pasts are Chairman of the Board Mārcis Vilcāns, appointed on the 1st of August 2016 for a period of five years, as well as Members of the Board Anda Ozola and Kristaps Krūmiņš. All Members of the Board are professionals of the postal sector and they previously worked in various positions in Latvijas Pasts.
