Pāvilosta post office of Latvijas Pasts gets a new, attractive visual appearance and a range of products suitable for the summer tourism capital

Latvijas Pasts has created a brand new exterior design concept of the post office located in Pāvilosta, popularly known as the Latvian summer capital and the paradise of winds. The building where the post office is situated has acquired a number of wall paintings, while the range of products available in the post office now meets not only the needs of the local population, but also is largely attuned to the tourists’ wishes. Since the start of the summer, the post office has extended its working hours and hired an additional employee to ensure the proper provision of postal services during the most active season of the year.

Pāvilosta post office of Latvijas Pasts is the first of the company’s post offices to have its visual appearance designed differently from the traditional post offices and based on the specific nature of the post office’s location and its inherent activities, which in this case is the status of the capital of summer and surfers. It is planned that the design of Pāvilosta post office can be used as a model for modifying also some other Latvijas Pasts post offices in the places where there are a lot of tourists and which are characterised by seasonal trends.

Mārcis Vilcāns, Chairman of the Board of Latvijas Pasts, points out: “We would like to say a big thank you to both the owner of the building and the local government, who were very welcoming towards the new ideas of Latvijas Pasts, allowing us to obtain the required approvals in a short time and carry out the necessary improvements. We have already received positive feedback from the residents and visitors of Pāvilosta about the positive changes in the visual image and the well-groomed environment; besides, it is now more enjoyable for our employees to work here. Pāvilosta post office is our first experiment with changes to the image, but we will definitely continue with it in other places in Latvia which are visited by tourists.”

The facade of the Pāvilosta post office building has been painted in bright colours, the premises of the post office have been refurbished to match the new design of the building and the range of products has been tailored to the interests of those who visit the town. The opening hours of Pāvilosta post office have also been changed according to seasonal variations: throughout the summer the post office will work longer at the weekends, on Thursdays and Fridays (until 5 PM and 7 PM respectively) and, in addition, it will also be open on Saturdays, when it will offer its services from 10 AM to 5 PM. An additional employee has been hired in the post office to ensure the services in accordance with the extended opening hours during the summer period.

The new appearance of Pāvilosta post office can be seen in the pictures here and in the video here.

Latvijas Pasts has more than 600 post offices throughout the country, including 480 full-service post offices, in which around 1,200 customer service specialists are employed.
