Some post offices in the shopping centres of the largest cities will be open during the Midsummer period

Only some post offices in the shopping centres of the largest Latvian cities will provide postal services during the Midsummer holidays. The 24th of June 2017, Jāņi day, will be a day off for the employees of Latvijas Pasts. The customers who get their benefits and pensions granted by the State Social Insurance Agency (VSAA) delivered to their place of residence through the intermediary of Latvijas Pasts with the expected pay-out period during the holidays will receive the money at an earlier date.

On Līgo day, the 23rd of June, and on Sunday, the 25th of June 2017, postal services will be available in some post offices, whereas on Jāņi day all post offices will be closed. A detailed list of the post offices to be open in Riga, Mārupe, Daugavpils, Jelgava, Jēkabpils and Liepāja on the 23rd and the 25th of June and their opening hours is available here.

The monthly pensions and benefits granted by the VSAA that are to be received by the customers at their place of residence on the 21st and 22nd of June will be delivered on the 21st of June, and the 22nd of June will be the pay-out day for those customers whose pensions and benefits are to be paid on the 23rd and 24th of June.

Western Union money transfer services on the 23rd and the 25th of June will be provided at all the post offices that will be open on those days.

Happy holidays!
