 Item delivery service of Latvijas Pasts at Circle-K has been recognised as an innovative solution at the level of the European postal organisations

The delivery service of e-commerce items established by Latvijas Pasts, which enables customers to collect e-commerce items from nearly 60 Circle-K fuel stations throughout Latvia 24 hours a day, seven days a week, has been recognised as an innovative solution in the evaluation of innovative postal services carried out by the PostEurop. At the award ceremony that took place in Bucharest, the capital of Romania, Latvijas Pasts received a Diploma of Honour for its contribution to the overall development of the postal sector.

Looking for creative ways to adapt to the changing customer behaviour in the era of modern technology, Latvijas Pasts started cooperation with the fuel trade service provider Circle-K Latvia (formerly Statoil Latvia) in 2012, offering customers the opportunity to receive the items purchased on the Internet in the place most convenient for them seven days week.

Today e-commerce items can be collected from a total of nearly 60 Circle-K fuel stations throughout the country 24 hours a day, seven days a week. As a result of intensive engagement in the efficient provision of data exchange and delivery of e-commerce items, as well as improvement of customer convenience in regard to their receipt, the amount of such items at Circle-K increased by more than 700% in 2016.

Evaluating the development of the companies of the postal sector and their compliance with the current market demands, the  PostEurop recognised the item delivery service of Latvijas Pasts at Circle-K fuel stations as an innovative solution and awarded the company with a Diploma of Honour for its contribution to the overall development of the postal sector. The Diploma of Honour was officially presented at the Plenary Assembly of PostEurop in Bucharest, Romania.

Continuing its development in the item receipt service, Latvijas Pasts in cooperation with foreign partners has engaged in the eCommerce Interconnect Programme (eCIP), which aims to create a single, customer-friendly and easy-to-understand postal service that would meet all the needs related to distance shopping. 

PostEurop has been representing European public postal operators since 1993. Its 52 members in 49 countries and territories collectively operate 175,000 retail counters, employ 2.1 million people and link 800 million people daily. The Association promotes greater cooperation, sustainable growth and continuous innovation. PostEurop is an officially recognised Restricted Union of the Universal Postal Union (UPU).
