The number of subscriptions processed by Latvijas Pasts during the first month of the subscription campaign exceeds the last year’s figure by 4,300

A total of 113,700 subscriptions were processed during October, the first month of Latvijas Pasts new press subscription season, and this is by 4,308 subscriptions more than in October 2016. The number of subscriptions made through the website www.abone.pasts.lv has increased substantially. More convenient and diverse options of subscription to a total of 724 Latvian and foreign print media titles are available at Latvijas Pasts until the end of December. 

The number of press subscriptions made through the modernised subscription website of Latvijas Pasts www.abone.pasts.lv, in post offices, from postmen and by calling the information line on +371 67008001 or +371 27008001 until the 31st of October 2017 has increased by 4.6% in comparison to the same period last year. The number of newspapers and magazines subscribed to online has grown by 19.2%, and their share accounts for 43% of the total number of subscriptions. Most periodicals – 48% – are still subscribed to in post offices. 

This year the tendency towards an increased number of subscriptions made for a longer period that was also observed last year continues: the amount of subscriptions for the period of 10 to 12 months has grown by 9.6% in comparison to October 2016. 90% of the total number of subscriptions processed in October 2017 were made for the mentioned period. 7% of subscriptions were for six to nine months, 2% – for one to three months and only 0.2% were for four to five months.

The highest subscription activity is observed in regional areas, where 76% of all subscriptions have been processed.

Subscription to Latvian press for 2018 is available through the website www.abone.pasts.lv, in post offices and from postmen until the 27th of December, and by calling the information line of Latvijas Pasts on +371 67008001 or +371 27008001 – until the 18th of December. Foreign press can be subscribed to through the website of Latvijas Pasts, in post offices and from postmen until the 15th of December, and subscription by calling the information line is possible until the 12th of December.  

There will still be the opportunity to subscribe to your favourite periodicals for 2018 at any time after the subscription campaign is over: the newspapers and magazines issued in Latvia during the relevant subscription period will be delivered in two business days if the publisher has provided for this possibility; other periodicals will be delivered from the beginning of each full month, and the time of receiving international print media will depend on the schedule set by the supplier and the specific subscription price period.

More than 700 periodicals can still be subscribed to at Latvijas Pasts for 2017, including newspapers, magazines and regional periodicals issued in Latvia, as well as foreign print media. 

A total of 724 periodicals can now be subscribed to at Latvijas Pasts for the year 2018, including 51 newspapers, 193 magazines and 54 regional periodicals issued in Latvia, as well as 426 foreign print media titles.
