More than 14 000 euro have been donated for Ziedot.lv campaigns in Latvijas Pasts' post offices in 2017

During 2017 in 450 Latvijas Pasts' post offices throughout Latvia more than 14 000 euro have been donated for the campaigns For the Little Hearts and Fulfil a Child’s Dream, run by the charity organisation Ziedot.lv. The customers of the company have thereby helped to support the treatment and rehabilitation of 36 ill children.

Until June 1st, 2017 the donations were collected for the campaign For The Little Hearts aimed at the treatment and rehabilitation of seriously ill children, whereas the donations following the above date were collected for the campaign Fulfil a Child’s Dream aimed at supporting children and adolescents with impaired mobility.

The Chair of the Board of Latvijas Pasts, Marcis Vilcans (Mārcis Vilcāns) expresses his gratitude to all the customers of the company who have supported the charity campaigns of Ziedot.lv throughout years in the entire territory of the country. "Many thanks to all our customers who get involved in the support campaigns organized by Ziedot.lv. Furthermore, the greatest joy is that this support is being given continually in the span of several years throughout the whole territory of Latvia in every post office."

The Manager of Ziedot.lv, Ruta Dimanta (Rūta Dimanta) says: "Latvijas Pasts as a heart postman has brought wonderful news to the families of 36 seriously ill children. Thanks to the donations of Latvijas Pasts' customers and employees, children from across Latvia will receive the much needed rehabilitation, enabling them to live a better life."

The charity campaign Fulfil a Child’s Dream currently taking in donations at Latvijas Pasts post offices is aimed at supporting children and adolescents with impaired mobility, providing regular and innovative rehabilitation services that enable them to become more independent and integrate into peer groups. Children and young people with impaired mobility require long-time and regular rehabilitation, but their families do not have enough funds for it; the state funding is also insufficient for this goal, as only one rehabilitation cycle is ensured once every 1.5 years.

More than a 100 children and young people with reduced mobility who are in urgent need of rehabilitation have turned to Ziedot.lv. Several hundred thousand Euro are needed to help all the children.

The cooperation between Latvijas Pasts and Ziedot.lv in donation collection started in late 2013, and over 70 000 euro have been donated form its beginning to the end of 2017.
