Some post offices in shopping centres will be open during the public holidays; the 21st of April will be a regular working day at Latvijas Pasts

On Saturday, the 21st of April, which is a transferred working day, Latvijas Pasts post offices will be working in accordance with the regular Monday schedule. Only some Latvijas Pasts post offices in the largest shopping centres will provide postal services during the public holidays on the 1st and 4th of May 2018. On the 5th of May all post offices will be working in accordance with the Saturday schedule. The customers who get their benefits and pensions granted by the State Social Insurance Agency (VSAA) delivered to their place of residence through the intermediary of Latvijas Pasts with the expected pay-out period on the 21st of April and the 2nd and 3rd of May will receive the money at an earlier date.

To allow people to enjoy several free days in a row, one working day in April – Monday, the 30th of April – has been switched with Saturday, the 21st of April. On Saturday, the 21st of April, Latvijas Pasts post offices will be working in accordance with the regular Monday schedule, except Jēkabpils post office No. 6, which will be open to customers from 9 AM to 6:30 PM. On Monday, the 30th of April, Latvijas Pasts post offices will be working according to the Saturday schedule, except Jelgava post office No. 5, which will be open from 10 AM to 6 PM.

Only some post offices in the largest shopping centres will be open during the public holidays: Labour Day on the 1st of May and Restoration of Independence Day on the 4th of May. The list of the post offices to be open during the public holidays is available here. Detailed information on changes in the opening hours will also be available on the spot in all post offices. On the 5th of May all post offices will be working in accordance with the regular Saturday schedule.

Pensions and benefits granted by the VSAA that are to be received by the customers at their place of residence on the 21st of April will be delivered on the 19th of April, and the 2nd of May will be the pay-out day for those customers whose pensions and benefits are to be paid on the 5th of May. Pensions and benefits to be received on the 6th of May will be paid on the 3rd of May.
