Eksprespasts of Latvijas Pasts – more items, new customers and service upgrade

In the first months of 2018 Eksprespasts of Latvijas Pasts, which specialises in the provision of express mail services, increased both the amount of the items delivered and its revenue, as well as the number of the customers served and also improved the customer and courier convenience by providing digital registration of the item delivery and customer signatures, developing a modern website, renewing the car fleet used for item delivery and creating visually and functionally new workwear for all couriers.

E-commerce items are one of the most growing segments of Latvijas Pasts services, and this is also confirmed by the increase in the amount of items and the number of customers of Eksprespasts, the provider of express mail services of Latvijas Pasts. Through actively modernising the quality of services and their provision, the revenue of Eksprespasts of Latvijas Pasts grew by 10% in the first quarter of 2018 compared to the same period in 2017, while the number of customers increased by 13%.

Among the customers of Eksprespasts are all major online stores in Latvia, including, for example, 220.lv, 1a.lv, Membershop.lv, RDveikals.lv, etc., and it can be expected that by the end of this year their number will increase to include several specialised traders. In the context of cross-border items, the largest amount of inbound items comes from Aliexpress.com, Alibaba.com and dhgate.com, followed by a number of other online stores.

The successful cooperation is based not only on the broader delivery network ensured by Latvijas Pasts, but also on an efficient data exchange system that allows for the transmission of information about orders to the courier as quickly as possible, and individual customer service solutions. Delivery of items is offered at the customer’s option both by hand and at one of more than 500 postal service locations, as well as at 56 Circle-K fuel stations providing this service 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

At present, all of more than 70 Eksprespasts couriers are equipped with mobile terminals, which record the fact of delivery and the customer’s signature, ensuring precise control of delivery time and instant exchange of data. Moreover, 34 new cargo vans have been purchased in 2018 for higher quality deliveries of express mail items. The vans were chosen according to the function execution needs of Eksprespasts from the point of view of both the freight and volumetric capacity. These vans are more powerful yet more economic and environmentally-friendly, and their manoeuvrability and performance are more effective.

In 2018, a new version of Eksprespasts website was created, providing modern and highly user-friendly functionality, such as a price calculator that allows any customer to find out the postage cost of their item and the potential sending time. At the same time, all couriers are equipped with new and comfortable workwear, which has a visually uniform style.

Eksprespasts of Latvijas Pasts provides express mail services in Latvia and to 58 countries worldwide. The delivery conditions to the nearest neighbouring countries are particularly favourable; for example, an express mail item in Lithuania can also be delivered to 700 post offices and 90 parcel terminals.
