Renovation of Riga post office No. 10 begins – starting from August customers will be served according to modern principles and with a new visual look

The renovation of Riga post office No. 10 at 41/43 Elizabetes Street begins on the 20th of June 2018. The post office is planned to open its doors to customers in a new visual look on the 16th of August. The modernisation will not only affect the interior design of the post office: this will be the first Latvijas Pasts service provision place of a new concept from the point of view of both service and sales of goods and services. During the renovation of the post office the delivery of items will be provided to the customers in the post centre Sakta at 32 Brīvības bulvāris, while other postal services may also be received in two other nearest post offices.

Taking into consideration the location and layout of the premises of Riga post office No. 10 at 41/43 Elizabetes Street, it has been selected as the first Latvijas Pasts post office of a new concept, planning the provision of high quality standards in both customer service and sales of goods and services. The team of the post office will be built anew by launching the employee selection procedure and setting high requirements for the applicants in terms of both customer service and knowledge of foreign languages.

After the renovation the customer service in Riga post office No. 10 will be organised in a customer-friendlier and more flexible way: the services will be provided in a different manner from the current post office – the customers will be serviced at a special standing counter, ensuring closer contact with the customer.

The renovation of Riga post office No. 10 will also bring about significant improvements in the sale of retail goods: open stands with a specially selected range of goods will be placed in the customer area, and they will be freely accessible to every customer for viewing, so that each can choose the goods they need in the most convenient manner.

During the renovation of the post office until the 15th of August the delivery of items and other services will be provided to customers in the post centre Sakta at 32 Brīvības bulvāris. Other postal services may also be received in two other nearest post offices: Riga post office No. 50 at 2 Stacijas laukums in the premises of the shopping centre Origo and Riga post office No. 45 at 5 Alūksnes Street.

Customers residing in the area of Riga post office No. 10 will be notified with the help of special notices in their letter-boxes regarding the temporary changes in the provision of postal services during the renovation period of the post office.

Riga post office No. 10 as a new concept place of provision of postal services will welcome customers starting from the 16th of August. Moreover, the only bicycle rack in Latvia which is located on the carriageway of the road has been opened next to the post office. It does not take up the area intended for pedestrians and allows for parking ten bicycles instead of two cars.

For two years Latvijas Pasts has been active in developing a more favourable environment for customers in post offices, such as new parents-friendly post offices, safe bicycle racks of a special design and a multi-functional customer flow management system that enables customers to apply for postal services in a post office remotely, using the Latvijas Pasts mobile app in their smartphones.
