Latvijas Pasts expands the mobile app functions: the possibility to follow the progress of the queue when applying for services is now available

Improving the customer service, Latvijas Pasts has already introduced the In-Out customer flow management system in 84 post offices throughout Latvia. This system regulates the customer movement on the spot in the post offices and enables the customers to apply for the services remotely using the mobile app. Continuing to enhance the app, Latvijas Pasts has expanded its functions allowing the customers not only to receive the ticket for the needed service remotely, but also follow the progress of the queue in online mode. Two more post offices – Līvāni post office and Liepāja post office No. 12 – are planned to be equipped with the In-Out customer flow management system by the end of 2018.

To enhance the customer experience, Latvijas Pasts has introduced major changes to its mobile app: when a customer has applied for a postal service remotely and taken out his or her queuing ticket, he or she can see not only the ticket number, but also the number of the people waiting for the particular service before the customer, the progress of the queue and the expected waiting time. If necessary, the queuing ticket may be postponed for five minutes or cancelled. The mobile app informs the customer when there are three previous customers remaining in the queue and when the customer’s turn in the queue has come up, also specifying the number of the counter where the service will be provided.

The Latvijas Pasts mobile app also makes it possible to track a registered item and find the nearest post office as well as its address, opening hours and postcode. The customers of Latvijas Pasts have appreciated the mobile app, pointing out that it is helpful and allows planning of the receipt of postal services, while avoiding unnecessary waste of time in the post office.

The implementation of the multifunctional customer flow management system in Latvijas Pasts has been going on for the past two years, and the number of the post offices equipped with it will amount to 86 at the end of 2018. At present there are 41 post offices fitted with this system in Riga and 43 post offices in other cities of Latvia, such as Aizkraukle, Alūksne, Ādaži, Baldone, Balvi, Bauska, Cēsis, Daugavpils, Dobele, Gulbene, Ikšķile, Jūrmala, Kuldīga, Krāslava, Ķekava, Liepāja, Limbaži, Ludza, Madona, Olaine, Preiļi, Rēzekne, Salaspils, Saldus, Sigulda, Smiltene, Talsi, Tukums, Valka, Valmiera and Ventspils. A total of 84 post offices have been equipped with the customer flow management system so far.

Two more post offices – Līvāni post office and Liepāja post office No. 12 – are planned to be equipped with the customer flow management system by the end of the year.
