Number of press subscriptions processed during the two months of Latvijas Pasts campaign grows, amounting to a total of over 163,000

The number of press subscriptions processed through the intermediary of Latvijas Pasts in October and November 2018 has increased by 5,020 subscriptions in comparison to the same period in 2017. Upon completion of the first two months of the subscription campaign of Latvijas Pasts a total of 163,293 subscriptions for the delivery of print media in 2019 have been received. As many as 748 Latvian and foreign periodicals can still be subscribed to in the digital environment, in post offices, from postmen and in publishing houses until the end of December.

For the second year in a row there has been a steady trend showing that the number of subscriptions for print media is increasing. In October and November 87% of the total number of subscriptions were processed through various channels offered by Latvijas Pasts: on the website www.abone.pasts.lv, in post offices, from postmen or calling the information line, while 13% of subscriptions were received from press publishing houses.

40% of the total share of the subscriptions processed in October and November at Latvijas Pasts are made up of the subscriptions purchased on the Internet, while 48% are subscriptions taken out by customers in post offices.

The results of the two months of the subscription campaign show that an increasing number of customers choose to subscribe to press for a longer period of time, just like in the previous years: the amount of subscriptions for the period of 10 to 12 months accounts for 84% of the total share of subscriptions, while the amount of subscriptions for six to nine months is 10% and the amount of those for up to six months is only 6%.

Subscription to Latvian press for 2019 is available through the website www.abone.pasts.lv, in post offices and from postmen until the 26th of December 2018, and by calling the information line of Latvijas Pasts on +371 67008001 or +371 27008001 – until the 18th of December. Foreign press can be subscribed to through the website of Latvijas Pasts, in post offices and from postmen until the 15th of December, and subscription by calling the information line is possible until the 12th of December.

There will still be the opportunity to subscribe to your favourite periodicals for 2019 at any time after the subscription campaign is over: the newspapers and magazines issued in Latvia during the relevant subscription period will be delivered in two business days if the publisher has provided for this possibility; other periodicals will be delivered from the beginning of each full month, and the time of receiving international print media will depend on the schedule set by the supplier and the specific subscription price period.

A total of 748 periodicals can now be subscribed to at Latvijas Pasts for the year 2019, including 52 newspapers, 187 magazines and 53 regional periodicals issued in Latvia, as well as 456 foreign newspapers and magazines.
