Some post offices will be open during the year-end holidays; pensions and benefits will be paid on an earlier date
Only some post offices in the largest shopping centres will be open during the year-end holidays on the 24th, 25th, 26th and 31st of December 2018. All post offices will be closed on the 1st of January 2019. The last day for delivery of items before Christmas is the 21st of December and for delivery before New Year’s Eve – the 28th of December. Pensions and benefits scheduled for the period from the 21st to the 24th of December will be paid on an earlier date.
 
Only some post offices in the shopping centres of major cities will be open during the public holidays on the 24th, 25th, 26th and 31st of December. The Greeting House in the Dome Square will be open until the 31st of December, and it will welcome visitors from 10 AM to 8 PM on Sunday through Thursday, from 10 AM to 10 PM on Friday and Saturday and from 10 AM to 1 PM on the last day of the year. Western Union money transfer services during the mentioned public holidays will be provided at most of the post offices that will be open.
 
All Latvijas Pasts post offices will be closed on the 1st of January 2019, and on the 2nd of January they will be working in accordance with the Wednesday schedule of each post office.
 
The last day for delivery of items before Christmas is the 21st of December and for delivery before the turn of the year – the 28th of December. 
 
Pensions and benefits to be received by customers at their place of residence on the 19th and 20th of December will be delivered and paid on the 19th of December; the 20th of December will be the payout day for those customers whose pensions and benefits are scheduled for the 21st and 22nd of December, while pensions and benefits scheduled for the 23rd and 24th of December will be paid on the 21st of December.
