The airport of the Ukrainian capital Kiev is fully closed for postal cargo

Due to cargo handling problems at the airport of the Ukrainian capital Kiev, the air traffic of postal items to Ukraine has been completely suspended. Airlines have now imposed a ban on accepting such items until the second week of January 2019.

A as result of cargo handling problems at the airport of the Ukrainian capital Kiev, the airlines that deliver postal items to that country have imposed a ban on accepting all kinds of items to Ukraine. This means that the postal items received for sending to Ukraine are currently being stored at the Sorting Centre of Latvijas Pasts, and after the ban is lifted they will be sent out immediately.

At the same time it should be noted that the delivery of the items that have already been sent from Latvia to Ukraine to final addressees is being delayed due to the problems related to handling, sorting and forwarding at the airport of Kiev.

Currently the ban on accepting items that have been imposed by airlines concerns the period until the second week of 2019. As soon as Latvijas Pasts receives updated information regarding items in the direction of Ukraine, it will be published immediately.
