Latvijas Pasts is going to present the Annual Press Subscription Award to publishers in various nominations

Summarising the performance results of 2018 and the achievements of the press subscription campaign for 2019, Latvijas Pasts has established the Latvijas Pasts Annual Press Subscription Award in acknowledgement of successful cooperation. The award is going to be presented to press publishers in various nominations during a special event on the 28th of February 2019.

The delivery of press obtained by subscription is one of the traditional functions of Latvijas Pasts, which, despite the rapid development of digitalisation, is still an essential part of the company’s services. Latvijas Pasts is the only press business operator in Latvia that delivers press publications to the most remote areas of the country every working day, ensuring equitable access to information for all residents of Latvia.

“In order for inhabitants to have what to read and for Latvijas Pasts to have what to deliver, first of all, of course, there must be quality and attractive information for which we can be grateful to publishers and creative media teams. With a view to strengthen our cooperation and promote the publishing and reading of the press, we have created the Latvijas Pasts Annual Press Subscription Award, which we are going to present to our cooperation partners in several nominations, emphasising their contribution to the promotion of the tradition of reading press obtained by subscription,” Mārcis Vilcāns, Chairman of the Board of Latvijas Pasts, points out.

The Latvijas Pasts Annual Press Subscription Award will be presented to publishers in a total of eight nominations at a ceremonial event scheduled to be held in the Central Office Building of Latvijas Pasts at 10 Ziemeļu Street, Riga International Airport, Mārupe Municipality at 2 PM on the 28th of February 2019.

The award will be presented in the following nominations: The Publishing House with the Highest Number of Subscriptions Taken out for 2019, The Most Subscribed to Publication in Latvian for 2019; The Most Subscribed to Publication in Russian for 2019; The Publishing House with the Highest Percentage Increase in Subscribed to Publications for 2019; The Publication with the Highest Percentage Increase in Subscriptions for 2019; The Most Delivered Publication in 2018; The Most Subscribed to Publication for Children for 2019; and The Most Subscribed to Regional Publication for 2019

The results of the subscription campaign of Latvijas Pasts show that press subscriptions in recent years demonstrate not only a stable but also a slightly growing trend. Upon completion of the traditional subscription campaign, a total of 430,823 print media subscriptions were taken out for press deliveries by Latvijas Pasts in 2019, and this is by 18,139 subscriptions more than a year ago.
