Latvijas Pasts is negotiating the acquisition of a network of 61 postal terminals

Latvijas Pasts is holding negotiations with Baltcap, a venture capital fund, to acquire a network of 61 postal terminals, which so far has been known under the brand name Pasta stacija. As a result of the transaction, Latvijas Pasts would acquire all of the currently operating Pasta stacija postal terminals or parcel machines that are 100% owned by Baltcap, thus significantly expanding the possibilities of item delivery.

By signing a contract with Baltcap, Latvijas Pasts would acquire the ownership of a network of 61 postal terminals for convenient receipt of online store items. According to the intention, Latvijas Pasts would also take over the relevant software, documentation, lease agreements on the locations of parcel machines, customer portfolio and customer service personnel after concluding the transaction.

“Along with the rapid development of e-commerce, which in the case of Latvijas Pasts means a significant annual increase in the number of online store items that can amount even to millions of units, our extensive network requires ever new solutions to increase the item delivery capacity. Therefore we are actively looking for a solution for large-scale diversification of item delivery options, which at the moment has resulted in the intention of a potential merger of the 61 parcel machines with Latvijas Pasts network,” Mārcis Vilcāns, Chairman of the Board of Latvijas Pasts, points out. He also notes that if the process is successful and all the conditions which are essential for Latvijas Pasts are fulfilled, the transaction could be concluded by the autumn of this year.

As reported before, in recent years Latvijas Pasts has been actively implementing projects aimed at customer convenience and environment modernisation to provide accessible and state-of-the-art services.
