The number of accounts opened at Latvijas Pasts within three days reaches the average monthly indicator – the company is ready for the influx of customers

The management of Latvijas Pasts expects an influx of new customers to the Postal Settlement System and for receipt of pensions and benefits paid by the by the State Social Insurance Agency (VSAA) at places of residence, taking into account the interest over the past few days in the payment services at Latvijas Pasts and newly opened current accounts whose number within three days has reached the average number of accounts opened over a month. Latvijas Pasts has the widest and most branched network of offices across Latvia, where it is possible to make and receive payments, and the company is the only economic operator that ensures the delivery of payments at the customer’s place of residence.

Since last Friday, the 16th of August 2019, more than 700 new payment accounts have been opened in the Postal Settlement System, which is equal to the average number of new accounts traditionally opened at Latvijas Pasts per month. Mārcis Vilcāns, Chairman of the Board of Latvijas Pasts, points out: “In view of the dynamics of opening new accounts at Latvijas Pasts and the high interest shown by customers, which we have observed over the past few days, we may forecast an additional influx of customers to the Postal Settlement System, and on our part we are ready for it. We are also forecasting an increase in the number of people interested in receiving pensions and benefits paid by VSAA at the customer’s place of residence – this is a service provided exclusively by Latvijas Pasts throughout Latvia.”

It is possible to open a payment account in the Postal Settlement System free of charge at any of more than 370 full-spectrum Latvijas Pasts post offices across the country. It provides the opportunity to receive salaries, pensions, benefits and other payments, to make transfers to the accounts of legal entities and private persons at post offices and credit institutions in Latvia and abroad, to deposit and withdraw cash from one’s account, and to pay bills for rent, utilities and other services.
