Latvijas Pasts and Mammamuntetiem.lv encourage everyone to send greeting postcards of special design to dads in time

Following tradition, this year again Latvijas Pasts in collaboration with the Latvian parents’ organisation Mammamuntetiem.lv encourages everyone to get ready for Father’s Day in time and send greeting postcards of special design to dads. This year the greetings will be united by the idea of dads as champions – in joking, giving advice or pampering. Choosing one of the three postcard designs offered on the website www.nosutipastkarti.lv and accurately filling in the specified address fields, the postcards will be delivered to addressees within the territory of Latvia until Father’s Day, which is celebrated in Latvia on the 8th of September this year.

You can log in to the website www.nosutipastkarti.lv created for sending postcards from today, the 20th of August 2019, using one of your accounts on social networks Facebook or Twitter. In order for the postcards to reach the addressees in a timely manner, it is essential to fill in the required address fields accurately, including the correct postcode, otherwise the postcard may travel longer to the addressee. Therefore, an address verification tool is integrated into the postcard sending website in order to make sure that the postcode is correct.

To encourage more awareness and understanding of the role of fathers in the family and parenting, Latvijas Pasts has been organising Father’s Day postcard sending campaigns since 2014, and since 2016 it has been holding such campaigns in collaboration with the Latvian parents’ organisation Mammamuntetiem.lv. Greeting postcard designs each year feature some trait which is characteristic of fathers. For example, the 2018 postcard idea was May everyone have a dad like mine!, while this year there is a possibility to choose a greeting postcard on the topic My dad the champion in joking, giving advice or pampering.

Within the 2018 campaign dads across Latvia were greeted with 17,000 postcards.

By combining the old tradition of sending postcards with the possibilities offered by modern digital technology, Latvijas Pasts has been organising the postcard sending campaigns on social networks since 2011. The most popular of them are dedicated to Mother’s Day and Father’s Day.
