Fast pick-up counters for quicker receipt of items have been set up in the busiest post offices in Riga, Daugavpils and Rēzekne

In order to provide more efficient customer service and faster processing of postal services, since the 1st of November 2019 Latvijas Pasts has set up special fast pick-up counters to ensure the delivery of items without delivery charges which operate for several hours every workday during the busiest period of servicing the customers. In November fast pick-up counters will be operating in the biggest and most frequently visited post offices in Riga, Daugavpils and Rēzekne, and the analysis of the current situation regarding the acceptance and delivery of items shows that additional changes aimed at improving the customer service are also planned in December.

Taking into account the increase in the amount of inbound international items as the end of the year is approaching, since the 1st of November 2019 Latvijas Pasts has set up special fast pick-up counters to ensure the delivery of items without delivery charges so that customers can collect postal items during several hours every workday without having to wait in the general queue for postal services. The fast pick-up counters operate in four most frequently visited post offices in Riga – post offices No. 58, 67, 69 and 83, two in Daugavpils – post offices No. 1 and 17 and two in Rēzekne – post offices No. 1 and 4.

Using the fast pick-up counters, where no other services are available during the hours with the biggest influx of customers every workday, it is possible to receive registered letters, small packets and parcels not requiring the payment of the customs duty or cash-on-delivery charges.

A detailed list of the post offices with fast pick-up counters for the delivery of items and the opening hours of those counters is available here.

Analysing the current situation regarding the acceptance and delivery of items, the need for additional changes aimed at improving the customer service in the post offices also in December will be assessed.
