The number of periodicals chosen in the first month of the subscription campaign is bigger than a year ago

The first month of Latvijas Pasts subscription campaign 2019 is marked by an increase in the number of press subscriptions: 116,141 subscriptions were processed in October, which is by 3,015 more than in October 2018. It is possible to take advantage of the largest range of periodicals in Latvia that are offered for subscription for 2020 at Latvijas Pasts until the end of December.

Until the 31^st of October 2019 the number of press subscriptions made through the subscription website of Latvijas Pasts www.abone.lv, in post offices, from postmen and by calling the information line on +371 67008001 or +371 27008001 increased by 2.6% or 3,015 subscriptions in comparison to the same period in 2018. The share of newspapers and magazines subscribed to online accounts for 45% of the total number of subscriptions. Most periodicals – 46% – are still subscribed to in post offices.

The amount of subscriptions for the period of 10 to 12 months grew by 1% in October this year in comparison to October 2018: 91% of the press subscriptions were made for the mentioned period. 7% of subscriptions were for six to nine months, 2% – for one to three months and only 0.3% were for four to five months.

Traditionally the subscription activity is higher in the regions of Latvia, where 76% of the total number of all subscriptions has been processed.

Subscription to Latvian press for 2020 is available through the website www.abone.lv, in post offices and from postmen until the 23^rd of December, and by calling the information line of Latvijas Pasts on +371 67008001 or +371 27008001 – until the 18^th of December. Foreign press can be subscribed to through the website of Latvijas Pasts, in post offices and from postmen until the 15^th of December, and subscription by calling the information line is possible until the 12^th of December.

There will still be the opportunity to subscribe to your favourite periodicals for 2020 at any time after the subscription campaign is over: the newspapers and magazines issued in Latvia during the relevant subscription period will be delivered in two business days if the publisher has provided for this possibility; other periodicals will be delivered from the beginning of each full month, and the time of receiving international print media will depend on the schedule set by the supplier and the specific subscription price period. 

A total of 751 periodicals can now be subscribed to at Latvijas Pasts for the year 2020, including 60 newspapers, 192 magazines and 52 regional periodicals issued in Latvia, as well as 447 foreign newspapers and magazines.
