Postal item exchange with Finland is returning back to normal – the strike by Finnish postal workers is over

The exchange of postal items with Finland has been restored back to normal following the announcement about early termination of the strike by employees of the Finnish postal operator Posti. As a result, airmail traffic to and from Finland is gradually resuming.

The strike by Finnish postal workers started on the 11th of November and its initial term was two weeks, until the 24th of November, which was later extended until the 8th of December. A full embargo on airmail items to and from Finland was imposed during the strike, ensuring the exchange of postal items only by surface to a limited extent and with delays.

In regard to the information received on the early termination of the strike, the lifting of the embargo and the resumption of postal item traffic back to normal have also been announced, including a gradual recommencement of ensuring the delivery of all items along usual air routes.

Previously the Finnish postal operator Posti apologised for the inconvenience caused due to the strike.
