Some post offices will be open during the year-end holidays; pensions and benefits will be paid on an earlier date

Only some post offices in the largest shopping centres will be open during the year-end holidays on the 24th, 25th, 26th and 31st of December 2019. The 1st of January 2020 will be a free day for all post offices. Pensions and benefits scheduled for the 24th of December will be paid on the 23rd of December. The last day for delivery of items before Christmas is the 23rd of December and for delivery before New Year’s Eve – the 30th of December. 

Only some post offices in the shopping centres of major cities will be open during the public holidays on the 24th, 25th, 26th and 31st of December. The Greeting House in the Dome Square will be open until the 31st of December, and it will welcome visitors from 10 AM to 8 PM Sundays to Thursdays, from 10 AM to 10 PM Fridays and Saturdays and from 10 AM to 1 PM on the last day of the year. 

All Latvijas Pasts post offices will be closed for the holiday on the 1st of January 2020, and on the 2nd of January they will be working in accordance with the Thursday schedule of each post office.

Pensions and benefits to be received by customers at their place of residence on the 24th of December will be delivered and paid on the 23rd of December. 

The last day for delivery of items before Christmas is the 23rd of December and for delivery before the turn of the year – the 30th of December.
