In 2019 Latvijas Pasts customers donated more than EUR 10,000 to the campaign Fulfil a Child’s Dream!, which is aimed at supporting children and adolescents with impaired mobility in all regions of Latvia and run by the charity organisation Ziedot.lv. Support to 40 children will be provided thanks to the funds donated at Latvijas Pasts. Over the last seven years visitors of Latvijas Pasts have donated more than EUR 90,000 to the Ziedot.lv campaigns, and the collection of donations in the post offices continues.
Funds for the campaign Fulfil a Child’s Dream! of the charity organisation Ziedot.lv could be donated in Latvijas Pasts post offices throughout 2019. The donations placed by Latvijas Pasts customers in donation boxes can be used to pay for 402 audiologist classes for 40 children this year.
Every parent waits for their baby’s first word – for the opportunity to hear “mum” and “dad” for the first time. However, sometimes language development is delayed and is worrying the parents. An audiologist can help if the child does not speak or people around have difficulty understanding the child’s speech and if there is speech development delay, mispronunciation, mixing up or substitution of sounds, inability to pronounce specific sounds, voice disorders, speech rate and rhythm disorders, stuttering, chewing and swallowing difficulties, including breastfeeding disturbances, and increased salivation.
Provision of regular and innovative rehabilitation is an essential prerequisite for the ability of children and young people with reduced mobility to be independent and integrate into peer society. In Latvia hundreds of children and adolescents whose families are unable to cover the costs of medical procedures on their own require such support every year.

These donations give children the opportunity to receive rehabilitation and support. By participating in a long-term charity campaign, Latvijas Pasts sets an excellent example of socially responsible behaviour.”
The cooperation between Latvijas Pasts and Ziedot.lv in the collection of donations started at the end of 2013, and more than EUR 90,000 has been donated in the post offices during the seven years since its launch. This year the collection of donations in Latvijas Pasts post offices will continue, calling on people to help children and adolescents to receive high-quality rehabilitation here in Latvia.
