Nearly 415 thousand press subscriptions have been processed for 2020

The results of the traditional subscription campaign summarised upon its completion show that Latvijas Pasts has received a total of 414,931 press subscriptions for delivery in 2020, including subscriptions processed both at Latvijas Pasts and in publishing houses. The number of press subscriptions for 2020 taken out from postmen has increased. Although the campaign is over, there is still the opportunity to subscribe to your favourite periodicals in any of the post offices or through the website www.abone.lv also after its completion.

The subscription result of the print media campaign for 2020 is 3.7% lower than for 2019, but it exceeds the subscription outcome for 2018, when 412,864 subscriptions were received for delivery by Latvijas Pasts. Therefore, in general, it is possible to talk about stable results over the last three years, which fluctuate within a few percent.

Most readers subscribe to press for a longer period of 10 to 12 months, and the number of such subscriptions has reached 266,718 units or 65% of the total number of subscriptions for 2020.

57% of the press subscriptions have been taken out through the channels of Latvijas Pasts: 25% through the subscription website www.abone.lv and 32% in post offices or from a postman. The number of subscriptions processed from postmen has increased this year and amounts to 31,585 subscriptions. 43% of the subscriptions have been received for delivery from publishers.

Magazines account for 66% of the total number of press subscriptions made.

Although the subscription campaign is over, there is still the opportunity to subscribe to your favourite periodicals for various periods in 2020 also after its completion: the newspapers and magazines issued in Latvia during the relevant subscription period will be delivered in two business days if the publisher has provided for this possibility; other periodicals will be delivered from the beginning of each full month, and the time of receiving international print media will depend on the schedule set by the provider and the specific subscription price period.
