Customers have sent in more than 11,000 questionnaires in evaluating the best employees of Latvijas Pasts

The most reliable, helpful and responsible postmen and post office operators of Latvijas Pasts have been selected in each Latvian region in the customers’ voting as part of the contest Mans Pastnieks 2019 (My Postman 2019) organized by the company. A total of 1,610 Latvijas Pasts postmen and post office operators were put forward for either of the nominations and for whom 11,321 residents' questionnaires were received. Nearly half of the questionnaires were filled out online. In their testimonials the citizens of Latvia have highlighted the professional abilities of the employees and their humane qualities, thus saying thanks not only for fulfilling their direct job duties but also for their aid in daily life and unanticipated situations.

Postmen and post office operators are those employees of Latvijas Pasts, who are in the direct contact with the customer the most and hence the closest to the citizens of Latvia, by serving customers in over 600 post offices throughout Latvia and delivering consignments to any address in the entire territory of the country regardless of whether it is a remote rural farmstead or an office in a city centre. The professions of a postman and a post office operator are particularly appreciated in the countryside as the employees are also helpful and forthcoming outside their immediate job duties with advice or practical help oftentimes supporting those who struggle to care for themselves. To give everyone a chance to thank these postage trade professionals Latvijas Pasts organized the contest Mans Pastnieks for the ninth time, which was held from the 15th of October 2019 to the 31st of January 2020.

In assessing postal employees, the customer activity this year has been higher than the year before - a total of 11,321 customer questionnaires were received, and nearly half of them - more than 5,000 questionnaires – were filled out online.

Based on the customers’ opinion, the following employees have been chosen as the best ones in the postmen competition: Marina Rubene from Rēzekne post office No.4 in Latgale region, Regīna Atligina from Tukums post office No.1 in Kurzeme region, Mudīte Mīlīga from Rūjiena post office in Vidzeme region, Valija Graudiņa from Rubene post office, Jēkabpils municipality, in Zemgale region and Vizbulīte Horste from Riga postal item delivery point No.50 in Riga region.

In turn, the best post office operators, as voted by the customers, are: Tatjana Aņisimova from Viļaka post office in Latgale region, Vija Ūze from Tukums post office No.1 in Kurzeme region, Zane Ceple from Cēsis post office No.3 in Vidzeme region, Anita Censone no Jaunjelgava post office in Zemgale region and Kristīne Kļaveniece no Ķekava post office in Riga region.

Mārcis Vilcāns, Chairman of the Board of Latvijas Pasts underlines: “I am genuinely pleased that every year our postal employees receive more and more gratitude from people - I am also joining them and wish to say the greatest thank you to our postmen and post office operators - the people who are the most valuable asset to our company and our direct link with every customer. The results of the contest yet again testify that the role of a postal employee plays a vital role in our lives."

In their questionnaires the residents have highlighted the most responsible, most helpful and most knowledgeable postmen and post office operators, also emphasizing their humane qualities, as the postman is oftentimes the most vital link with the outside world for the remotest rural farmsteads.

The postmen and post office operators with the highest assessment rates given by the customers will receive valuable prizes from Latvijas Pasts and will be honoured at special annual reporting events in each region.

This was the ninth time that Latvijas Pasts called on residents to assess the best postman and post office operator of each region, highlighting their professional abilities and giving thanks for their good work. The questionnaires for the contest My Postman 2019 were sent out at the beginning of October 2019 together with the Subscription Catalogue of Latvijas Pasts, and they were also possible to be filled in and submitted online at http://anketa.pasts.lv/.
