Latvijas Pasts offers an opportunity to remotely redirect a registered item to a parcel locker via the mobile app

To improve the postal service and the options of receiving postal items, Latvijas Pasts has started offering the redirection of registered postal items to any of Latvijas Pasts parcel lockers throughout Latvia via its mobile application. Almost 300 items have been redirected to parcel lockers during one month since the service has been operating in test mode, and their number continues to grow.

Since July 2019 Latvijas Pasts has been providing its customers – both private persons and legal entities – with the opportunity to remotely redirect any traceable, registered or insured postal item via Latvijas Pasts mobile app to another destination of their choice within the Republic of Latvia by changing the original delivery address indicated on the item. Now any of the parcel lockers in Latvijas Pasts network can also be chosen as a more convenient place to receive one’s parcel – Latvijas Pasts has 61 parcel lockers all over Latvia in total. Within one month of testing the new service customers have opted for redirecting around 300 items to parcel lockers, and interest in this opportunity of receiving items is growing.

When choosing to redirect a postal item addressed to you to one of Latvijas Pasts parcel lockers, please keep in mind that the weight of the item may not exceed 31.5 kilograms, and its size must be within 38 cm x 38 cm x 58 cm. To avoid redirecting wrong items, it is important to make sure that the redirection is requested, indicating the same mobile phone number that was originally specified in the item details.

It is also possible to remotely redirect items to any Latvijas Pasts post office throughout the country, to another delivery address, such as an office, or to one of more than 60 Circle-K fuel stations with which Latvijas Pasts has concluded a contract for delivery of items. Now the parcel locker network of Latvijas Pasts has also been added to these versatile capabilities, which means that it is even more convenient to receive a parcel at work or at home with courier delivery, at a post office, stopping by at a parcel locker or at Circle-K.

The item redirection solution of Latvijas Pasts mobile app allows the customer to quickly and efficiently redirect postal items addressed to him or her to another address within the Republic of Latvia, without having to draw up an application and submit it to the post office. To receive the redirection service, the customer must use the feature Pārvirzīt sūtījumu (Redirect item) in the mobile app of Latvijas Pasts, specifying his or her exact and functioning mobile phone number and the traceable, registered or insured postal item number, consisting of a 13-digit code with two letters at the beginning and at the end and nine digits in the middle, for example, AB123456789CD.

The customer may pay for the redirection service via his or her online bank right in the mobile app.
