In order to maximise the number of customers who can receive their items, from the 23rd of March Latvijas Pasts will store items in its parcel locker network for three days – this decision has been made due to the emergency situation and will remain in effect until its cancellation. As the demand for receiving items in the parcel lockers has grown substantially these days, congestions are often experienced, as some items are not collected in time, preventing other customers from receiving their items. Therefore a temporary decision has been taken to reduce the time of storing items in the parcel lockers, thereby facilitating faster movement of items. At the same time Latvijas Pasts is replacing a number of parcel lockers, installing newer lockers with higher capacity.
Considering the emergency situation and the necessary safety measures, more and more customers opt for receiving items in a contactless manner using the parcel lockers of Latvijas Pasts. At the moment there is tendency to experience some congestions, as part of the items are not collected in time, which leads to an accumulation of items, preventing other customers from being able to pick up their items.
Therefore, a decision has been made to store items in the parcel lockers for three days from the 23rd of March until the emergency situation is terminated, allowing the maximum number of customers to receive their items in the lockers. The new storage period will apply to items placed in the parcel lockers from the 23rd of March. At the same time Latvijas Pasts also urges customers whose items were placed in the parcel lockers before this date to collect their items without waiting for the expiration of the five-day time limit which was in force before. Such responsible behaviour will facilitate faster movement of items and ensure the opportunity for other customers to collect their items during the state of emergency declared in the country.
Latvijas Pasts has a total of 61 parcel lockers across the country and their capacity is also being increased at the moment by replacing them with newer and more spacious lockers. For example, the parcel locker at 112 K. Valdemara Street, Riga will be replaced with a locker having twice as many compartments on the 24th of March.

In the emergency conditions all Latvijas Pasts parcel lockers are subject to enhanced cleaning and disinfection.
