Latvijas Pasts has equipped workplaces with protective glass shields at all currently operating post offices

Latvijas Pasts has now installed protective plexiglass shields at post office operators’ workplaces at all of more than 340 post offices throughout Latvia, thus limiting contact between the post office operator and the customer. The post offices are subject to enhanced cleaning and disinfection, and post office employees have been provided with additional disinfectants.

Latvijas Pasts has installed protective plexiglass sheets to limit exposure at all post offices in each region of Latvia, equipping a total of 567 workplaces at all of more than 340 post offices. The protective shields have been placed in an effort to minimise contact between the post office operator and the customer and provide additional security for both the customer and the employee.

Following the emergency situation declared in the country enhanced personal hygiene measures have been imposed on the personnel of the Latvijas Pasts post offices in addition to extra disinfection measures for the equipment in the post offices. All postmen have also been appropriately informed and provided with disinfectants and other safeguards for personal use. Similar safety measures are also applicable to the employees of the sorting centre.

Latvijas Pasts urges customers to be understanding and to adhere strictly to all safety precautions when visiting a post office: not to visit the post office if they have symptoms of the disease, not to crowd and to keep a distance of 2 metres, to wait for their turn in the queue outside the post office, to make maximum use of the opportunity to apply for services at post offices remotely, as well as to use personal protective equipment and to practice proper hygiene.

Latvijas Pasts has created a special frequently asked question-answer section about the company’s operations in the emergency situation, which is available in latvian language in the news section of www.pasts.lv and is regularly updated.
